#SARAWONG 23 SS  WIND BLOWING CAMELLIAS

The Sara Wong SS23 collection is inspired by the floral world and in particular for the decoration of her clothes the designer has chosen the elegance and the sophistication of the Camelia. It is a flower filled with significance, an expression of perfection and excellence which represents perfect beauty, grace and eternal love.

The Camellia comes from the East, which is where initial attention to this particular poetic plant has developed, which heralds the arrival of the spring season. The peculiarity of this flower is in fact the flowering, which occurs in winter, a characteristic that has always attracted Chinese writers and artists since the Song dynasty (960-1279).

For the coming summer season Sara Wong expresses her passion for art and creates her new collection inspired by one of the most famous paintings of the time, “Camelia and Snow” of well-known painter Lin Chun, representing the contraposition of white snow, red and green flowers on a folding fan. An extraordinary timeless work recognized all over the world that conveys an intense sense of strength, serenity and rebirth.

For this collection Sara Wong plays with overlays and transparency by mixing fabrics which include velvets and jacquards embellished with French stitch embroidery. The color palette contains pastel shades of pinks, blues and greens combined with brown. The Camelia will be the protagonist of Kimono jackets, hoods and long skirts as well as shorts and tops for a romantic and feminine woman who is at the same time strong and decisive, just like the Camelia flower that even during its withering process remains resistant.

The SS23 collection by Sara Wong will be presented on Wednesday 21st of September at the Circolo Filologico Milanese which, for the occasion will be transformed into a garden of giant flowers which will be hand-made by the artist Faby-Hana, who will utilize molded and hypoallergenic resistant materials such as fommy and Isolon for a brilliant effect and rippled paper to adorn the creations with a touch of romanticism.

  • BLOSSOMS SAND

The SARAWONG FW 24/25 collection weaves its way through the folds of history and poetry to narrate a tale of intrinsic beauty and deep meaning. The designer drew inspiration from the immortal words of William Blake in his poem “Auguries of Innocence” and the cultural richness of the Silk Road to create a fashion experience that celebrates the connection between the microcosm and the macrocosm, the limited and the infinite.

The designer particularly references on one of the most dense and meaningful verses in the work:

“To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour.”

These words, steeped in profound wisdom, explain the ability to perceive the entire universe in an apparently insignificant detail. Even in a single grain of sand or a wildflower, it is possible to glimpse an entire universe where one can find the beauty and perfection of paradise. The designer tries to capture this vision, transforming common elements into extraordinary pieces. The fabrics, details, and prints of the collection delve into the microcosms of nature; the textures and patterns evoke a deep connection with the earth and sky, translating Blake’s poetic essence into vibrant garments.

In particular, the floral prints are inspired by the four magnificent flowers found on Dunhuang murals, a system of 500 rock-cut temples in Gansu province along the Silk Road. Peony, pomegranate flower, lotus flower, and honeysuckle represent the resilience of women, their ability to adapt and their understanding and hope for a life full of beauty and happiness.

“Blossoms Sand” manifests itself through a fusion of timeless elegance and contemporary innovation. Rich fabrics and flowing silhouettes blend harmoniously with intricate details inspired by nature. Elegance is combined with whispered sensuality, creating a perfect balance between sophisticated femininity and bold modernity. The collection embodies the vision of a confident woman, aware of her inner and outer beauty.

The Silk Road, a symbol of cultural and commercial exchange between East and West, permeates the collection with its thousand-year history. The colors, shapes, and decorations recall the magnificent shades of landscapes, and the exquisite details reflect the influence of cultures intertwined along this historic route, offering a tribute to its timeless beauty.

Intricate embroidery, precious fabrics, and craftmanship come together to create unique pieces that tell ancient and modern stories.
